ItineraryThursday, Aug. 30: Arrive in DublinWelcome to Ireland’s bustling capital city! Settle in at your 4-star Dublin hotel (3 nights) and get a feel for the city. The rest of the day is at leisure to stroll trendy Grafton Street, explore Temple Bar (Dublin’s Left Bank). Irish hospitality abounds in Dublin’s excellent pubs and restaurants. Enjoy a Welcome to Ireland Reception get together this evening. Friday, Aug. 31: Day of Leisure in DublinEnjoy a leisurely day in Dublin exploring the main attractions: Trinity College and the Book of Kells, Dublin Castle and St. Patrick’s Cathedral the Dublin Writers Museum and the Guinness Storehouse. Saturday, Sept. 01: Join the Fans at the Notre Dame/Navy Game – Aviva StadiumThe last time Notre Dame and Navy squared off in Ireland, in 1996, over 40,000 fans attended the game. The new Aviva Stadium reopened in May 2010 and has a 50,000 person capacity. All indicators are showing this game will be a sellout event! Sunday, Sept. 02: Dublin/Kilkenny/Waterford/CorkWe leave Dublin today and head south to your hotel in Cork (2 nights). En route we will visit Kilkenny Castle in Kilkenny, Ireland’s best example of a medieval town. We will also see the new House of Waterford Crystal. Continue to Cork to visit the English Market and Crawford Art Gallery. Monday, Sept. 03: Blarney/Kinsale/CobhVisit Blarney Castle and Woolen Mills – kiss the Blarney stone to receive the gift of eloquence and do some shopping at the mills for Irish crafts, crystal, linens, china, tweeds and woolens. We will see the picturesque fishing and sailing town of Kinsale. Then we continue to Cobh Harbor, last port of call for Titanic (1912). Between 1848 and 1850, 2 million people left Ireland through Cobh in search of a better life, the majority settled in the United States. See Titanic Exhibition and Cobh Heritage Centre Tuesday, Sept. 04: West Cork/Kenmare/Ring of Kerry/KillarneyToday tour the world famous Ring of Kerry, beginning at the lovely market town of Kenmare. For centuries artists and writers have celebrated this kingdom of Kerry, where the contrasting mountain, lake and coastal scenery is at its most spectacular.
