Itinerary

Day 1: Depart USA on overnight flight to Dublin, Ireland.

 

Day 2: Arrive Dublin.

Enjoy a brief overview of Dublin City before heading west to County Sligo, fondly known as “Yeats Country” . After an introduction to  Sligo, we will check into our  hotel to settle in for a 3-night stay. Relax after your journey.

Day 3: Golf at Enniscrone/ Sightseeing in Mayo.

Situated beside the picturesque seaside town of Enniscrone, this golf course affords panoramic views of Killala Bay, Bartra Island and sandy beaches with Nephin and the Ox Mountains forming the backdrop. Non golfers may follow in the footsteps of thousands of pilgrims and hike to the summit of Croagh Patrick, where St. Patrick reportedly banished the snakes from Ireland! You will also visit the lovely town of Westport, home to Matt Molloy, the flautist with world renowned “Chieftains” group.

Day 4: Golf at Rosses Point/ Sightseeing Yeats Country.

This Championship Course has all the dignity and maturity of age. Benbulben Mountain competes with the Atlantic Ocean for scenic splendor, as you factor the breeze from the sea into your game. Non golfers will enjoy sightseeing in County Sligo, known for its  many megalithic sites. We will also visit Drumcliff – widely known as the resting place of the Irish poet laureate W.B. Yeats who chose the tiny churchyard as his final resting place and was buried there 9 years after his death! You will see his famous epitaph: “Cast a Cold Eye on Life, on Death. Horsemen pass by”.

Day 5: Golf at Murvagh/ Sightseeing Donegal & Belleek.

Donegal Golf Club at Murvagh, is an outstanding links golf course, continually featured in Golf World’s Top 100 courses in Ireland and Great Britain. There are incredible scenic views in Donegal including the highest sea cliffs in Europe, Slieve League, Glencolumbcille, and Glensesk Pass. Donegal is the second largest county in Ireland and is perhaps the most spectacular. It has everything; amazing coastline, mountains, wonderful valleys, and a rugged and truly picturesque landscape. Visit the town of Belleek and the famous pottery and Parian China factory. This evening we continue north for our 2-night stay in Derry.

Day 6: Golf at Ballyliffin/ Sightseeing Giants’ Causeway.

Ireland’s most “northerly” club, Ballyliffin boasts two championship links courses: The Old Links and Glashedy Links. The Old Links undulates in the glory of its natural terrain, presenting an immensely enjoyable challenge to every golfer. We will take a guided tour of the impressive historic Walls of Derry. Then continue to the north coast to learn about the famous geology of the Giants’ Causeway and also of the fabled giants who built these basalt columns in Celtic days gone by!

Day 7: Option to golf at Royal Portrush / Sight- seeing Titanic Belfast.

Royal Portrush Golf Club is home to one of the best and most challenging links golf courses in the world, the Dunluce Links, and the hidden gem, the Valley Links. This is where major winners Rory McIlroy, Graham McDowell and Darren Clarke call their golfing home. Enjoy an overview tour of Belfast City, taking in the main sites and especially the newly opened Titanic Exhibition at the site where the great ship was originally built, Harland & Wolf shipyards. Continue on to Dublin for our final 2-nights.

Day 8: Option to golf at Royal Dublin/Sightseeing Dublin City.

Founded in 1885, The Royal Dublin Golf Club is Ireland’s second oldest golf club. It is a private members’ club with a warm welcome for the many visitors who wish to experience links golf in one of Europe’s finest capital cities. In Dublin City, visit Trinity College, shopping and street entertainment on trendy Grafton Street, or simply find a great seat at an outdoor café or pub and watch people go by in the exciting area of Temple Bar. You may wish to take a tour of the famous Guinness Storehouse, St. Patrick’s Cathedral or Dublin Castle.

Day 9: Depart Dublin Airport.

After breakfast this morning you will transfer to Dublin Airport for your flight home. After checking in you will have time to enjoy some Duty Free shopping before departing.
